2005 ATL Cy Young Award Vote Tally

LEGENDS LEAGUE Cy Young Award Vote Tally
The Legends League Cy Young Award voting quickly ran to a contest
between two pitchers: Robin Roberts and Greg Maddux. Surprisingly,
Fergie Jenkins, who pitched so prominently during the season, did not
receive a single first-place vote. However, Jenkins did capture third
place overall with 15% of the total vote. But the main event had Robin
Roberts being crowned as the first-ever Legends League Cy Young Award
Winner. Roberts captured 33% of the total vote, and 46% of the
first-place votes. Greg Maddux snared 25% of the total vote for
himself, and 38% of the first-placers.
Roberts led the Legends League in Winning Percentage (.789), Opponent
On-Base Pct (.262), Quality Start Pct. (.720) and In-Play Average
(.222). He was 2nd in Wins (tied-15), Opponent BA (.217), Hits/9 (7.2)
and Runners/9 (9.4). He was 3rd in ERA (2.97) & Walks/9 (2.0) while
being in the Top Ten on several other pitching lists.
Troy Percival (11%) and Larry Jansen (4%) were the only other pitchers
to receive first-place votes, one each. An interesting note is that
Robin Roberts also received a vote for the MVP Award.
