It is taking longer than I thought to get a MVP page up, so without further ado let us crown the Most Valuable Players from the Legends and Union Leagues here in our ezine. Later on there will be a permanent page for MVP winners.

LEGENDS LEAGUE MVP Vote Tally

Over in the Legends League it was a little more decisive, with Tris Speaker of Cincinnati catpuring 31% of the vote, and 45% of the First Place ones. Jimmy Foxx of those same Cincinnati Reds finished second with 19% and 1 First Placer.

Babe Ruth and Pop Lloyd tied for third with 9% and 1 First Placer apiece. Sadaharu Oh, Lou Gehrig and Perucho Cepeda were the others who received a First Place Vote

UNION LEAGUE MVP Vote Tally



Two players recieved 3 First Place Votes in the Union League, but it was Willie Mays of the Newark Eagles who was named on more ballots in total. The Say Hey Kid becomes the first MVP of the Union League capturing 28% of the vote.

Dick Allen of the White Sox was second with 17% of the vote, and Mel Ott's 12% squeaked by Ty Cobb's 11% to capture third place, each got one First Place Vote. Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle also collected First Place Votes.
